Daycare Centre Mintarder Weg

Essen / North Rhine-Westphalia / Germany

This creative painted evacuation slide was installed in the Mintarder Weg daycare centre in Essen / North Rhine-Westphalia as an additional 2nd escape route to the existing staircase in order to be able to evacuate younger children more quickly in the event of a fire. Evacuation via a staircase harbours a high risk of injury from falls, especially in the event of panic. This can be largely ruled out with the emergency slide. In addition, the escape slide can also be used as normal play equipment, which gives the slide a further benefit. In addition, the children practice for emergencies in a playful way, which minimises the risk of panic in an emergency. As a visual highlight, the evacuation slide has been designed to look like the trunk of an oversized elephant.
