Dynamikum Pirmasens

An Experiment in Moving. The special slide at the Science Museum Dynamikum in Pirmasens / Rhineland-Palatinate, offering a height of 3.80 metres and two differently shaped double wall slides of widths of 50 cm each, is an experimental station in the interactive museum. The paths of the individual double wall slides play a decisive role in this experiment. Because of their linear and brachistochrone (brachistochron: “brachistos“ means shortest and “chronos“ means time) paths, the persons on the slides experience different rates of velocity. This is to prove that on a longer slide of a certain curve path, every body subjected to gravity will reach a lower point faster than on a shorter slide.
