Dynamikum Science Museum Pirmasens

Pirmasens / Rhineland-Palatinate / Germany

An experiment in movement. The special slide in the Dynamikum science museum in Pirmasens / Rhineland-Palatinate, with its two differently shaped box slides, is an experimental station in the interactive museum. The course of the individual double wall slides plays a decisive role here. Due to the linear or brachistochrone (brachistochrone: “brachistos” means shortest and “chronos” means time) course of the slides, the sliders experience different speeds. The aim is to prove that on a longer slide you can reach a lower point faster than on a shorter slide due to certain curve shapes.
